Jake Malkovich — known throughout the industry as Malky — is the Founder of MGEM Global and the creative force behind every major initiative the company has built. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Jake is an entrepreneur, touring DJ, and entertainment executive who started with nothing but a vision and the relentless work ethic to back it up. He built MGEM from the ground up with one clear mission: to be the company that stands behind the people building something real.

Jake's story starts on the DJ circuit. Long before there was a company, there was a kid from Detroit who fell in love with music, taught himself the craft, and started performing anywhere that would have him. He developed a reputation fast — for his ability to read a room, command a crowd, and deliver sets that people talked about long after the night was over. That career took him across the country, performing at nightclubs, festivals, private events, and corporate activations in city after city. But more than the performances, it was what he was learning behind the scenes that mattered most. He saw what artists were missing. He saw where the gaps were between talent and opportunity. He saw how much potential was being wasted because the right infrastructure wasn't there. That education didn't just shape his career — it became the blueprint for everything MGEM would become.

Over more than a decade in the industry, Jake built relationships across every corner of the entertainment world — with artists, promoters, venue operators, festival organizers, brand executives, and entertainment companies across the United States. He earned a reputation not just as a performer, but as someone who understood the business: how to structure deals, build partnerships, negotiate contracts, and create long-term value for everyone involved. Those relationships and that knowledge became the foundation MGEM was built on.

Under Jake's leadership, MGEM has grown into a full-service management, entertainment, and media company with active divisions spanning artist management, talent buying, event production, brand development, marketing and partnerships, media and content production, and business consulting. He didn't build a generalist agency — he deliberately assembled a team of specialists, each owning their division, so every client MGEM works with gets focused, expert attention. The result is a company that can serve an independent artist, a national brand, a Detroit venue, and a growing entrepreneur all at the same time, at the same level of quality.

Jake is also the Founder of The Move — MGEM's nightlife and live event brand that brings together the best in music, culture, and community across Detroit and beyond. The Move is where the energy lives: artist showcases, city-to-city events, brand activations, and nightlife experiences built around the idea that the best nights happen when the right people are in the right room. Jake created The Move because he believed Detroit deserved events that matched the city's culture — not imported, not generic, but built from the inside out.

He is also the Founder of MGEM Golf — a division built around the intersection of golf, business, and culture. MGEM Golf isn't about the sport alone. It's about what happens on the course: the conversations, the connections, the deals that get done when people are relaxed and present. Jake recognized early that golf had become one of the most powerful networking environments in business, and he built MGEM Golf to help artists, entrepreneurs, and executives leverage that space — whether through branded golf events, corporate outings, sponsorships, or hospitality experiences that blend sport with strategy.

Jake is deeply proud of MGEM's Detroit roots. Detroit has one of the richest entertainment and music cultures in the world — the birthplace of Motown, techno, and a long tradition of artists who built global careers from the Midwest. For Jake, building MGEM in Detroit was never just a geographic decision. It was a statement: that world-class management, talent, and entertainment infrastructure can be built here, and that Detroit artists and entrepreneurs deserve the same level of support and opportunity as anyone in New York or Los Angeles.

As Founder, Jake stays closely involved in the company's most important relationships, deals, and decisions. His DJ days gave him the foundation — the credibility, the network, the firsthand knowledge of how this industry works — but today Jake is all business. His focus is on building MGEM, growing the roster, closing deals, and making sure every person and brand the company works with gets the best version of what MGEM has to offer.
